As an art student I'm always learning new things and trying to open my mind to different forms of art. Sometimes wandering around and taking photos of things that wouldn't normally seem beautiful can create the best art.
Something so familiar to one person can seem so foreign to another. The street you grew up on will bring back memories when you pass by, but to someone else it's just another street in the city.
I find excitement in the unknown. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but I'm no pussy.

Security Cameras In Use
Only five words but this image has so much more to say.
I wanted to go inside to buy a soda but decided the inside was better left a mystery to me and my imagination.
66A Red Garage Doors
I wonder whats behind the third door.
I really wanted to get a picture of the reflection in this puddle of a car driving by. luckily I didn't get wet.
I wonder what the guys in the car were talking about.
Entrance to a scrapyard and auto shop. when I first walked by this place I immediately knew I wanted to photograph the barbed wire fence but just kept walking to the corner of the street.
I was shooting with my digital camera and two film cameras in 35 mm film. All three cameras were draped around my neck when the auto shop owner came out and asked me what in the world I was doing taking photos in this neck of the woods. I explained it was an assignment for my photography class to go out and shoot in a different location I had never been to. He then offered for me and the other student I was shooting with to come into his shop and shoot whatever we wanted to.
We ended up on the roof of the shop. Meeting new people in new places can turn out to be very rewarding sometimes.
The stairway to the roof was like something from and old horror film. Every step taken on each step rushed excitement through my bones.
Smile and wave for the camera. This sweet man told me he wanted me to take his picture to show off the happy customer in the auto shop. I never got his name.
This old radio was speaking to me and telling me i needed to take its picture. I'm glad I did.
The auto shop owner let me and my fellow classmate shoot all sorts of things. the owner made a comment about how we were shooting very random weird objects and how he wasn't sure they'd make a good picture.
I then replied you need to find the beauty in the objects and not just find a beautiful objects to photograph.
As we walked back towards the bus stop we saw this beautiful piece of architecture in this run down neighborhood. It stood as a powerful fortress among the the withered ruins surrounding it. So next time you go somewhere really take a moment to look around. You might be surprised with all the beauty you can find. Grab your camera and go on an adventure.
